Grade level parties that are the perfect opportunity to meet other parents, enjoy adult conversation as well as food and beverages.

Proceeds from these awesome events go to the PTA and their efforts in funding opportunities such as field trips, mini-grants, cultural events, classroom supplies and much more!

flight time enrollment now open

Registration for Flight Time is now open! You may sign up now through September 23rd.

As a reminder, Flight Time is a series of after-school clubs hosted by Trailwood teachers and staff and organized by our PTA. Clubs meet every Thursday from 3:15 pm - 4:15 pm from September 26th - November 14th; we will not hold classes on October 17th (due to parent/teacher conferences) or on October 31st (due to Halloween).

The clubs cost $60 per student, with $50 per student going directly to the hosting teacher. Scholarships are available! Please reach out to Mrs. North in the office if you are interested.

Please note that once a club is full, you will no longer be able to sign up for it. In addition, if clubs do not meet their minimum enrollment numbers, they may be cancelled. Students will then be given the opportunity to enroll in another club, if interested.

dining partners

Dining partner events are amazing ways to support Trailwood while also enjoying some delicious food and supporting our community partners.

Our first dining partners event was on Friday, September 13th, at Papa Johns. Thank you to all who participated! Do you know of a business that would be interested in learning more about the dining partners program? Please reach out to Lori Tritsch, if so!

And, be sure to check out the information below for details on other great ways to give back!

cafeteria volunteers needed

Whether you can help a little or a lot, we’d love to have you as a cafeteria volunteer this school year! Your time commitment is only one hour, but it makes a huge difference for our students and staff. Responsibilities include opening drinks and food packages and assisting our lunchroom aides.

Together, we can create a positive mealtime experience for all! See the sign up below!

MEMBERSHIP and yearbook sales happening now

You can support the amazing work of our PTA by purchasing a membership! Becoming a member does not obligate you to attend meetings or volunteer (although, we’d love to have you!). Your support allows us to provide our students, staff and families with a variety of fun and educational opportunities here at Trailwood!

You can also purchase your child’s yearbook and pay their yearly activity fee here. Yearbooks are a fantastic way for kids to reminisce on all the fun they had at Trailwood Elementary and will be delivered in May.

Chair a committee

We still have a few committees in need of chairs for the 2024-2025 school year. Please reach out to Lori Tritsch if you have additional questions or are interested in being a volunteer.

Volunteer as a wingman

Calling all Trailwood dads and father figures!

This fall, please consider taking a half-day or full-day out of your busy schedules and spending some time in your child's classroom as a Wingman! This is a great opportunity to interact with the kids and see what they do every day! Your schedule will vary depending on the needs of the day, but you can plan on spending most of your day with your kiddo(s) in the classroom, on the playground or at specials.

Volunteers can choose the dates and times (half-days or full-days) and can float between classrooms (if more than one child is attending Trailwood). Be on the lookout for a SignUp Genius coming soon!

Please contact Leif Peterson with any questions.

become an mvp and make a difference

We hope you'll consider becoming an MVP this year! This designation is given to adult volunteers in SMSD who would like the opportunity to work with/supervise kids on their own. These relationships are positively powerful for the child (and the adult), and we can always use people to serve in this role!

Trailwood will be hosting two MVP training opportunities in September. Please join us on 9/9 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm or on 9/17 from 8:30 - 9:30 am. Reservations are not required.

For more information on the MVP program and training dates, please use the link below. Please contact social worker Brenna Sandefur-Farrar if you have any additional questions.

2024 - 2025 PTA MEETINGs

We hope you'll join us for our next PTA meeting of the year on Thursday, October 10th, at 8:15 am in the Commons.

Please come with your questions about everything Trailwood. Our monthly meetings are great opportunities to get to know each other and find out more about our fabulous community! Everyone is invited to attend! Children are always welcome!

We hope to see you there!
